FAQs
What differentiates you from other builders? What do you offer that other builders don’t?
We specialize in Florida coastal construction. Our homes have withstood numerous hurricanes and tropical events without any major issues. Unlike most other coastal builders, we specialize in 1, 2 and 3 story concrete block homes.
Our team of tradesmen have been with us in some cases for over 25 years.
We encourage a true team atmosphere in our projects with everyone working together to produce a top-quality home.
What are your standard features and what is the process to do options and upgrades?
Our standard features include Impact PGT Windows & sliding glass doors, and roof sheeting 5/8” Zip roof. We use fin windows installed in a 2x PT buck system (not masonry) because these windows will help stop water intrusion into the home. We also use Advantec X-Factor sub-floor, base board that are 7 ¼” high, door casing 3 ½” and crown mold 7”. We are truly a custom home builder so our quote and contract are based on your desires and dreams – not our standard specifications.
How is the final price determined?
The final price is determined by the final plans and your desired materials. We have meetings and a questionnaire that we go over with you to make sure you are specifying exactly what you want in your home.
Who is the point contact for questions? How easy is it to work with your team?
Our Sales Director and our Designer will be the main points of contact. Our Intracoastal team will go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience to make the construction of your home a pleasurable experience.
Do you have a professional interior designer on staff?
Yes, we have a professional interior designer that will help you.
Do you have a design studio? How are vendor selections made? Are vendor appointments scheduled by the builder or the customer?
We do not have a design center – it is much better to go to the Vendor locations so you can see all the selections available to you. Our interior designer makes appointments and goes with you to visit showrooms to make your selections. Our process and format is critical. The Designer creates the color sheet that is distributed to our subcontractors and vendors. We have a system in place that has proven to be very successful.
Who is the project manager at the jobsite? How many homes do they manage?
Our project manager is over all homes under construction. The owner of Intracoastal Construction and the Sales Director is involved.
How will we be kept informed during the construction process?
We have different ways of working with different customers. Our Sales Director can meet you at the jobsite as requested. If you do not live in the area, we can send pictures or videos of the job progress as requested.
Do we have access to the construction site during the build?
Yes, you will need to make an appointment during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday, and someone will meet you at the jobsite.
How do we manage and resolve conflicts, problems and issues that arise?
We have very few because our contract & specifications are very detailed. We invest the time in the design stage to streamline the construction process. If there is any confusion or disagreement, we will set up a meeting to review the issue and come up with a solution. You will have the office staff’s email.
